Obtaining Impound (Tow) Release Paperwork

Records is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to release impounded (towed) vehicle paperwork.

All Lakewood Police impounds are handled by Ace Towing. To retrieve an impounded vehicle you must have impound release paperwork from Lakewood Police Records.

Items required for impound release paperwork:

  • Proof of ownership (title or valid registration)
  • Photo identification
  • Proof of insurance for the vehicle (if available)

Valid proof of insurance will be requested at the impound lot.

If there is no proof of insurance, the vehicle owner must work with the impound lot and arrange to tow the vehicle from the facility.
